How to Install WordPress Blog on Hostgator Hosting?
Have you ever purchased hosting from Hostgator or want to create a WordPress blog or website?
This is a step by step guide that will tell you "how to install WordPress on Hostgator hosting". If you have not purchased the hosting from them then you how can buy hosting and follow this tutorial on creating a WordPress blog on Hostgator hosting.
hostgator.in offers custom cPanel to manage your domains and hosting and offers standard cPanel offers to manage hosting. I will tell you how to start with their custom cPanel and then how to go into their hosting cPanel for WordPress installation.
Its easy steps and nobody can do it without any technical knowledge. So let's bring a cup of coffee and start your first WordPress blog setup and start the tour in the next 10 minutes.
How to install WordPress on hostgator :
I assume that you have purchased hosting from Hostgator hosting and the first thing you need to do is to point your domain to the hosting account. I also assume that you have made your domain name point with Hostgator hosting account.
If you did not do this, then go ahead and complete it. Now follow the steps mentioned below and soon your WordPress blog will be up and running.
Go to manage.hostgator.in and login with your credentials.
Click Manage Orders> List / Search Orders.
Click on the domain name under Product hosting. (See in the screenshot below)
On the next page, scroll down to that section, where hosting is written, (this can also be multi-domain Linux hosting and single-domain Linux hosting too) according to your package.
Click Manage Web-hosting (open in new tab) and it will open a pop-up which will take you to the account of cPanel hosting. You can also click on admin details on it, which will give you the direct link of your hosting account and login credentials. (You can make notes in Google doc file for later use).

Now scroll down to the section where you will be typed, where Softaculous apps installer and this is where you can install your WordPress blog and many CMS like Drupal, Joomla and many more. Here is the fastest and fastest way to install WordPress on your hosting account. (See screenshot below)
Click on WordPress and it will take you to that page, where you have to configure some basic settings for the installation of WordPress.
Click Install and configure the options. (It is easy but be patient and check all the steps again). I have already explained all the options and if you have any confusion, please feel free to ask me via the comment section below.
Select Protocol : This is the place where you have to decide that do not keep www. As the short domain name is great, I suggest using www without use. So just select http: //
Select Domain : Select the domain on which you want to install WordPress.
In directory : By default Hostgator will select wp as directory and I suggest you remove it. If you do not want your WordPress blog to be installed in a directory like domain.com/wp, I recommend that you install it on the WordPress main domain. For example, in my case WordPress will install on HGusers.in.
Sitename : Give your site a name.
Site Description : Add a description to your site in three to four words. (You can change your site name and site description at any time later).
Admin account section:
This is where you will configure login details for your WordPress blog. Keep in mind that you can choose any and none other than admin. Also use a complex password.
If you have not created an admin email, you can add it later and add an email for now that you have access. (In the coming days, I will tell you how to create an admin email). After the settings, my screen looks like this:
In the Limit login plugin options, enable this feature. (You can turn off this plugin after you activate Jetpack WordPress plugin later).
Advanced Options:
Click Advanced options and configure settings like image shown below. Keep in mind that you have entered an email address in the last option "Email installation details to" as it will bring you information after installation is complete. This information will be helpful later, or you will also need these details to make any developer change to WordPress.
Click Install and this will take about a minute to complete your WordPress blog.]
Login to your WordPress dashboard, and this is something that your WordPress dashboard will look like.
Here are some quick changes that you have to do before starting blogging with your WordPress blog or before doing anything else.
Delete Hello world post
Delete sample pages from pages.
Go to Settings> Permalink and select permalink structure as name.
Yoast seo plugins used.
Wp super catch plugins Install form.
